We are Hiring: MOBILE Veterinary ASSISTANT

Location: Skagit, Island, Whatcom county mobile shifts

 FRIDAYS ~7AM-4PM with future growth to TUES/WED planned


Pay: $20–$22/hr (DOE) Part-time | 6-10 hours- week with future growth to 18-24 hours


Paid Sick Leave and SIMPLE IRA with 3% match for all employees


We are a mobile small animal ultrasound consulting service providing imaging support to veterinary clinics across Skagit, Whatcom and Island Counties. We are a small, close-knit team looking for a dependable and professional person to join us. 

Medical Duties

  •  Load/unload veterinary ultrasound equipment
  •  Set-up, tear down, clean, and maintain ultrasound equipment
  •  Perform a basic pre-sedation assessment including acquisition of vital signs and evaluation of patient behavior
  • Assist in the administration of  injections and restraint for IV catheter placement
  • Lift and reatrain patients for ultrasound imaging
  • Application, management, and maintenance of anesthetic monitors
  • Clean and disinfect exam rooms
  • Safe and legal operation of a company provided or personal automobile for business purposes
  • Monitor patient recovery
  • Medical material stocking and inventory management

Client Communication

  • Discuss consent forms and estimates with referring veterinary team members 
  • Answer questions regarding ultrasound diagnostics

Clerical Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain patient files and medical records
  • Patient and client data entry
  • Assist in responding to calls, e-mails or routine client inquiries when necessary

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in the veterinary medical field or similar animal and medical experience. 
  • Ability to lift 40lbs unassisted
  • Ability to stand for 30-60 minutes at a time while leaning to restrain animals
  • Ability to work is close contact with animal dander and regular exposure to animal bodily fluids. 
  • Willingness to travel during business hours (Typically 7AM-4PM)
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, Google documents and Adobe programs
  • Professional and positive attitude
  • Integrity and ability to admit mistakes
  • Trustworthiness and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Willingness to learn and apply Fear Free handling (current certification is a plus)
  • Must maintain professional appearance and use appropriate language
